I am thinking about upgrading to 17" saw blades (then brakes) but I see that the wheel widths available are 8.5", 9.0" and 9.5". What are the pros and cons of the different sizes as they apply to an 87 Corvette. How does wheel width affect tire size or type? Is bigger better? Thanks

On the 87 you will need spacers/adapters to move to any post 88 17 inch wheel..I believe from what I have read and been told. Yours is set up for 16" wheels.
Spacer/adapters are available.
If you want a set of '88, 17" polished wheels (lots of work done to them to get them polished) give me a shout
I'm pretty sure you will have to use spacers/adapters. I believe that Vette Brakes may have what you need or at least the info which will help you with your decision.
Not sure which sawblades you're looking for, but I have 4 1994 sawblades available ... all are 8.5 inches and you may very well want wider for your application.
