Can someone verify that either early (85 -88 ) vette intakes do not have the provision for the EGR pipe from the intake to the right exh manifold while the ( 89 -91) has the provision or did I end up buying a ported Camaro intake. It will not accept the EGR pipe that my 91 has. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have a stock 88 L-98. It has the EGR pipe that connects to the passenger side exhaust manifold and the rear of the intake.

What is the casting number of the intake manifold you bought? What is on the manifold you've removed from the car?

Pretty sure all L98 Vettes (85-91) had the EGR tube that runs from the exhaust to the intake.

I have an 85 WITHOUT an EGR tube running from the exhaust to the intake. intake manifold PN 14081005, and original to the car. pretty sure that feature started in 1986. I used to think it was an aluminum head thing, but iron head 86's had the tubes.

The EGR tube started in 1986. I have one on my cast iron head '86, though it's not really needed. There is an exhaust passage from the head and the intake manifold has passages to use that passage from the head.
