Default Requesting help

Got in my 1990 vette today and the "full engine power" light was lit up on the display. Also the climate control screen was blank and the climate control would not turn on and none of the buttons worked. It appeared the climate control was getting power because the screen was lit but blank. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance

'Full Engine Power' is a ZR1 option - valet protection.

See if any info in this thread helps (doesn't address the climate control problem):

Need more information on your car, If its not a ZR-1 it should not have a bulb in the full engine power location. If it is it is on by default and you need to turn it off with the valet key.

Do a search on climate control, you will find many great posts on diagnostics and cleaning of the controls.

If you don't have one and are going to do you own wrenching I suggest you invest in a FSM, best $ you will spend.

Thanks for the help. My 1990 is not a ZR1. I read some posts that said it was default in the ZR1 and could be turned off. Not sure why mine has come on all of a sudden. Is there a way to positively check that it's not a ZR1. I know the rear lights are different but it appears the rear of my car may have been replaced so I can't tell using that method. Any other ways to determine? Thanks for the help.
