Default window adjustment

I am trying to research side window glass adjustment. my factory shop manual is no help. I have several other books that haven't been much help either. I installed new weather strip on my top and since I must slam the door when the window in the up position. I have no problem if the window is down or If the top is down or if the window is partially down. The windows seem tight at top.
Any suggestions will be appreciated. The factory shop manual says there is an adjustment but that is all it says.

yes there is adjustments you could make and it is a little labor intensive because it requires the door panels to be removed.

you can either bring the window down and drop window stops. but this sometimes other problems of fit.

I prefer to close myself inside the car and loosen the regulator to glass mounts and relieve the extra tension from the new stripping.

if you mess with window stops you sometimes have problems stopping to early or to late on one side or other causing the glass to make contact with the B pillar or leave a gap on the A pillar

I would lub it with dielectric grease and give it some time first. maybe leave the window down a hair.

I would try antfamer2's suggestion first. If you do adjust, do it in small increments or you may learn the hard way as I had to. Every adjustment can create other problems.

The density of your weatherstrip is more than likely greater than the latex coated weatherstrips that were used by GM.

Getting the window to seal well and yet not bind up is one of the biggest pains in my backside when i install weatherstrips....which is why I have tried at all costs to only install the latex design. Which are hard to get and should become available again in some time.

Other than that...it is a compromise. getting the glass to seal and how hard it takes to close your door.

AND yes...in time the weatherstrip should compress....but my customers do not want to wait till it does.

SO...you do have to remove the door panel and the rear stop is also the angle/tilt feature to the glass....allowing it to tilt like you want.

I also agree...getting inside the car and loosening it up ls allowing the glass to relax...but sometimes that might cause you to open the door and put it back a little bit to provide some resistance when the window is up and closing the door.

Hi

The glass tilt angle can be adjusted in or out, have a look at the diagram below.

There is a "guide bracket" inside the door that catches the window regulator, it affects the height and angle of the glass toward the center of the car.
Remove the door trim and you cannot see the guide and the bolt you want to access is on a 90 degree angle.
It has a scissor type of effect, you will need a socket wrench to access the guide. just "loosen and close the door and tighten from in the car", the glass should touch the roof weather strip and a/b pillar weather strips at the same time.
Or the top glass to roof at first click of the latch, with a slight gap at a and b pillars till the door is fully closed.
Your doors will then close easily with little effort.
