A Chevy dealer near me has a guy who specializes in old vettes, so they are taking a look at it now. It stalls without warning. I could be reving it up to 3k and it will just cut out almost like I turned the key off. I'm starting to think it's the opti, but still no codes.

You often mention the x4 replacement which gets out of hand $$$ quickly.

THEY ARE NOT LIKE OIL AND FILTERS - NO WAY!!!
I guess it is just me I change things when they get old and crappy and don't work well.
And yes I will change old over due maintenance parts before I take it in to get bent over and pay for it.
Most folks come here to fix their own cars as cheaply as possible. Telling them to take it in and have a (PRO) find it for them not much help.

Hope it is just a bad connection and not your opti.

It now threw code 16, which is opti related.Dies when hot, but is easier to restart. They analyzed it and did a few tests and are very sure it's the opti. So now I'm going for a new opti,(coil) ICM water pump, belt etc. $$$$

Finally got it back from the shop, 8 new injectors, new AC Delco Opti, Plugs, Wires, ignition coil, 2 New O2 sensors, Water Pump, and Serpentine Belt. It runs SMOOTH I never had it running so smooth. Before it was shaking in gear and all. Alot more power too. But when the car is fully warmed up it idles at 500 or 600 rpm (Auto) in Drive. It never stalls, just idles at a smooth 500rpm in drive, it always did this. Is this normal for a auto?

The car was running lean and throwing knocks for a long time. The lean and knocks was because of a few bad injectors, so I changed them all. The stalling was from the opti. When they opened up the old opti, it was all croreded and it looked like there was water inside. So while I had the opi out, mine as well replace the water pump and Serpentine Belt, because it all has to come off anyways.

The fact that the mechanic replaced the water pump while the Opti was being changed is a GOOD thing!!!

Think how "annoyed" most owners would be if a 50,000 mile old Water pump lost the seal and caused a 5,000 mile old opti to die - thus causing another $1,500 repair bill.

So how does it feel to have it running properly? Bet it's great!

Your idle is in the zone so be happy. The ECM decides where to set the idle speed using the IAC. You will probably have a slightly higher idle with the AC on.

Yup feels great and it has a lot more power too It runs so smoothly with the new injectors and opti.

Sitting at a light at a steady 500ish feels a bit low to me, like its going to stall. But Never does. I did notice a bit of an increase in RPMs with the AC on, but the pump cycles because I´m low on freon. Just trying to get a feel for what A4s normally idle at.

Not sure what the mechanic did with the weep hole. I doubt it though.
