Mine is 62" from the outside of the axels flanges (wheel mounting points).... a housing that is 61" wide would be way too wide.

Perfect. This one is 61" wheel mount point to wheel mount point. Looks like it will work with the right wheel back spacing. Thanks will!

I did not bring up finances, I asked how to do this on a budget. That's how you're smart with money. Did you know that? Prolly not..

I run a 15X10 wheel with 6.5 BS and fits a 28X10.5 or 275/60R15 Radial under it perfectly. No spacers or anything.

I only plan to run a 28x10.5, but I have a few friends running very fast in the 235 class and the 8.5 class...they run 10" wheels with 8.5" tires..do you think a 12" wheel would fit with a 10.5" tire?

The suggested rim with for a 28x10 MT/ET drag tire is 10". Why would you want to go with a wider wheel? I believe Will (rcklessdriver) is in the 8's with his 10" wheel setup.

A buddy of mine, bobby kruck, just went 4.41 in the 1/8th on a 235 radial running a 10" wheel. It's something many of the pro street and big class guys do.

Again, why would you want to run a 12" wheel?

From what I understand it creates a bigger footprint for the tire

On mine the 28x10.5 slick will just rub the inner fender in turns. A 12" wheel could help with that because it wouldn't bulge the sidewall as much.

I'm sure it work but I just don't know about the BS on a 12" wheel to make it fit proper.

I'm going to be running a 275 radial this season but the 28x10.5 has been good to me over the yrs.

Yeah that's something I would leave to asking the wheel manufacturer. They would be able to set me up with the proper wheel. I would likely run a radial aswell. Our local track isn't a sandbox like many others. Low 7 second passes have been made in street cars on a 275 radial.
