Default Shocking revelation!

It's about shocks!

My rears went away in 27,000 miles. These are/were Billsteins!

Found the rear end to be "dancing around" in corners and really out of control on bumpy turns.

Pulled the shocks today and found that I could push them down with one hand and stop the upward return easily!

Just a warning y'all, no sign of oil leaking or any damage

Thought 27, 000 is a little low for shocks to go, but...!

With my 96 Z51 shocks I can't push the shock down without using the floor as a base, but I can stop the upward return easily. I know they say 100K miles, but yours are over 15 years old, that's a long time for seals and the like. Time for some HALs.

Mine were all done at 26,000 miles just like yours.

Hope my new HALS last as well as they perform :) :) :)

That sucks, I've had a set of Bilstiens on my 2 ton Impala for the last 5 years, drive them on the mean streets of Chicago everyday, 30K+ miles, they're still fine. My 96's Z51 shocks are still fine after 21K, replaced them for the HALs just last month.
