I thought I'd provide an update. We pulled the fuel filter off and it was clogged as I could not blow through it. We replaced the filter and the car run for about 10 minutes then died. We noticed the pump was no longer coming on when putting the key in the on position.

I decided to pull the pump and swap it out. Car started right up. FP is where it should be. We put about 70 miles on it with no problem.

Still curious as to why the pump died after replacing the fuel filter. Maybe just coincidence but I typically don't believe in them.

Thanks for all your help!

My wife won't yell at me if I accidentally suck in gas. She would kick my a** if I let my 17 year old try that

The pump also fixed the gas gauge which I did expect.

What the heck you have kids for if you can not play with them?
The float was probably just stuck.

Pump could have been on its way out (the 30 and 10 min run times suggest it) and finally died. They don't last forever

Not to mention pushing thru fuel threw a clogged filter raises the current draw and increases pump wear.

And my son ran it out of gas 5 times because the fuel gauge did not work and he can't do basic math!
