Well, guess I'll try this page. Hello all. I kinda need help and I'm new to corvettes. I have a C4 1988. It's been "supped" up from a previous owner for racing. I don't have contact with this guy any more. Here's what I do know. BBK throttle body, K&N air filter, SLP air intake, MSD (?) distributor and wires. Sorry, but thats all I know.
Question 1) if brake booster is bad, does that cause car to surge at speed, 45-55 mph? Does this also cause surge when brakes applied at stop? Rough idle; goes from 800 to 1000 both in park and in drive at stop.
Question 2) Hose from throttle body to right valve cover, not PCV, blowing oil. Small amount on valve cover and where you connect to throttle body. Is this a concern and how to fix?
Get all the hoses connected and look for cracks and leaks.
Thank you for reply. I have looked and triple looked at all the hoses. No leaks, drips, or smuched lines. However, when I do step on the brake pedal, there is a small vacuum leak heard. Is this the cause for other engine problems?
