from the price you paid, it almost sounds like you actually got "new" bosch4's - ???

couple questions - am I correct in assuming you got a set of bosch3's - new, or rebuilt? just asking, because you also say "Nor did I want to buy a new set of Multecs." when you say, FIC confirmed that they were bad, well I find it odd that all 8 injectors went bad, all at the same time - ???

not doubting you word, but I like to hear Jon's/FIC side of this story concerning the warranty -

If these are 0280-155-710 they will work in 89 thru 91 where fuel pressure runs right at 45 to 47 lbs. They'll run lean in a 86 thru 88 where pressure runs at 42 lbs.

If they are 0280-155-700 they flow even less. I tested a set back in 2012 and I have 48 lbs. When I reset my flowrate to 20 lbs from 22.1 my BLM counts came back in line.

On Bosch III, I went from 22# to 24# to get the BLM's in a range around 128 on my 89. Still fattened the injectors up in the tune some as the BLM's would hang in the low 130's or so in order to get the BLM's to hang around closer to 128 or slightly less but above 120. As I figure the BLM's hanging at 128 or below would get some safe range in case of a bad tank of gas or it having higher ethanol content would help to keep the BLM's from going over 138.

From what I've read, the computer can only adjust +/- 10 of 128. So it's my understanding you want your BLM's to stay in between 118-138. But more preferably +/- 5 of 128 which is 123-133 to keep a cushion.

I use Datamaster and run the Histogram when playing a log back. The histogram keeps track of each cells minimum and maximum blm and its average. What are you using? Glad to hear you tune for yourself. I tune to 124 to 128 and watch the o2 for .860.

I looked at the yellow injectors I had and they were the 700. The 24# blue's I've got in now are 0280-155-715, which on the Witch Doctor website are 256cc/min at 43.5psi or 24.4 lbs/hr. Don't know why they don't run rich, as I did have some aftermarket store bought injectors that were rated for 24# and it ran rich on scans and fouled plugs. Must have to do with the spray pattern or something.

I could have left the blue 24# Bosch III with stock tune as they were in the safe range for the most part. But I did lower the air/fuel ratio some since I run the E10 and I fattened up the injectors some to try and keep the BLM's in the 120's range. It's been a while so I don't remember where they've been, but I use Datamaster to do the tune.

I put their rebuilt Bosch III's in my 92 and no problems here either. I also use them at work for all of my marine needs too.

Which is why it is important to hear the reason for denial of warranty. If I ran something besides gasoline or run too much power and shorted all the coils, etc, denied warranty is reasonable. OTOH, refusing to honor a warranty without reasonable cause would make him a crook. The devil is in the details.

They didn't all go bad. I bought rebuilt. Trust me, I am honest guy. They took like 2 weeks to tell me some of the injectors were bad(the coils in them). They did not say why they didn't warranty them. Let me see if I can find our chat in email. Kimmer, sorry to hijack.

Well, in any transaction, one or both parties can be honest or dishonest. Also both parties might be honest and there is a misunderstanding. BTDT. I always like to give people the benefit of the doubt before I call them a crook lest there is really a reason something was done or not done or it was just a plain old misunderstanding. Kinda like 5 people witness an accident and yet everyone has the a different angle on it. So just to be clear, I'm not calling anyone dishonest at this time.

I bought a set of used Ford Blue Bosch III 24# Injectors from a member in the for sale section for $25.00. I bought a rebuild kit on ebay for Bosch injectors which includes new O-Rings and Filter Baskets. I rebuilt them and have been using these injectors for over a year without issue. Throttle response improved, and so did smoothness. I have a REALLY smooth running LT1 after various other mods I have done as well.

Rebuild kits are fine but they are part of the solution. The items do not include testing the spray patterns and flow volume.

I have a set of rebuilt Bosch 3 in my stock 91. Great shop to do business with I called him twice with questions, very helpful over phone. I am restoring a 87 Mustang GT Convert. and will use them again for the injectors on my 5.0 engine.
