Need Ecm/efi advice
First off i would like to state that im kind of a newbie when it comes to this.
I am in the middle of rebuilding an engine for my 87 and would like some advice on my ecm and efi questions. My engine is a 355 with roughly a 10.1 compression. I have a lingenfelter 219 cam, afr 180 heads (currently on order), 1.6 rockers, Accel intake base with SR runners and SR plenum, along with the 1000cfm Accel throttle body. Will be buying hooker or hedman headers and building a custom exhaust without cats. I will be deleting the smog pump and the egr. (if that makes any difference in the advice.) Anyways... My question is would it be best to buy an efi set up that tunes the system or would it be better to get my prom custom programed.
The set up im currently looking into is the EZ-EFI 2.0® Multi-Port Retro-Fit Self Tuning Engine Control System SKU: 30404-KIT
or getting a mail order chip from TPIS
Main cost difference between the 2 would be the engine wiring harness i believe.
