HELP NEEDED ON CORRECT CODES
Welcome again from Southern Africa,
Can you believe it.
When I contacted my old friends at Ecklers to order some touch up paint for my 89 they told me none of the carriers would transport paint internationally anymore.
Something to do with beefed up airline security.
As a result I have toi make a plan locally.
Now it turns out that there is a local crowd that if you give them all of the paint codes will contact the manufacturer and they download the formula overnight and the machines have it mixed the next day.
Aint life sweet.
The only problem I now have is working out the complete codes for
1989 Charcoal Metallic.
In the Vette Black Book it is listed as code 96 but apparently there is a much more comprehensive code I need to provide them with.
Can anybody help me down here in deepest darkest.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.
Regards
BRIAN
On this cover, is the sticker w/ all your RPO codes. There will be 2 codes at the end,.... One starts w/ "U" the other w/ "L" They stand for upper and lower. The 4 digit code what what your paint guy is looking for. He should know what to do w/ the rest.
Example:
BSE/CLR COAT WA- L8769 U8769 122
Beware, Euro recipie's differ from USA recipie's.
what you'll probably find is:
96 - WA9192 - Dark Smoke Gray Poly
for 1989 there's also:
GM - WA - COLOR
90 - 9191 - Medium Smoke Gray Poly
20 - 8770 - Nassau Blue Poly
28 - 8743 - Black Sapphire Poly
31 - 9568 - Arctic Pearl
35 - 8769 - Yellow
68 - 9239 - Brilliant Red
81 - 8774 - Bright Red

Thanks for the confirmation.
One of the best things about the forum is how you guys help someone so far away.
If either of you fellas are ever in this remote neck of the woods we must share a cold beer together.
