I'm trying to QUIET DOWN the toy. My neighbors don't have to hear me coming home in the evening. Loss of horsepower is not a problem. I have enough as it is. Brand names would be appreciated. Stainless would be desired. Any real experience would be appreciated. The ears are starting to hurt.
Just noticed you are in Florida, what year is your car? I actually find the Quiet Flow mufflers too quiet. Do you have any idea what exhaust your car has now?
My stock 91 auto came with Flowmaster 50 series mufflers. They have a nice rumble at idle and while on the throttle. Not the prettiest tips, but they are ok. Also, they do not drone, which was a relief to me as I had a Trans Am with aftermarket exhaust whose drone was very annoying.
I don't know....I don't think that any aftermarket muffler is going to be very quiet with "383w 9-1compression/Vortech T trim/ CC cam/ etc pushing out 595rwhp @5700 rpm/571 max torque--non intercooled"

I feel your pain. We can swap the cars if you like.
I'm looking for quieter mufflers for my 96 CE. I believe everything is stock right now and the mufflers are just over a year old from Corvette Central (OEM spec'd), but a couple of months ago they suddenly started being extremely loud a couple of months ago. I think something came apart inside, but I don't know. I've had it checked for leaks, but nothing was found. I'm thinking some of the mufflers suggested here might be a good fit. I'll start a separate thread tomorrow and stop hijacking the thread.
Thanks for the various comments. I located a "stock" system not far away here in Florida. I couldn't find suitable mufflers with the inlet as well as muffler length I felt I needed. After 20 years the B&B triflo is coming off the toy. I hope my ears notice the difference.
I have also used walker Quiet Flow mufflers .They are a direct fit work great. Before the Walkers a friend gave me a cheap after market set.The resonance and noise was so loud they would give me a headache in ten minutes of driving.

I just fired up my car for the first time in a while and the B&b is quite loud. My cats are blown out so that doesn't help.
I was thinking of swapping out the resonator with one of the 3" internal x pipe dynomax mufflers to see what that did for performance reasons. However, I would imagine it's got to flow better than the B&b and the sound might be more mellow since some people use this muffler alone. Combined with the mufflers, I'd think it might be a little more mellow.
I'm surprised nobody mentioned Corsa. The debate used to be between B&B and Corsa. For quiet no drone, Corsa seems to be the best. B&B worked for me, but I ran into a problem with the 3" system as I have a convertible with the cross beams. Now I just run muffler elims with the stock resonator, I like a little noise.
