Default Performance Expectations

I have had my 1992 Corvette convertible less then a year and I am enjoying it alot. I do not have alot of history on the car due to the fact that it was bought in BC and now resides in Ontario. The visual things that I can see that are changed are the muffler system which is now a Magnaflow Performance System and the rocker arms from Compcam which are labeled Chevy SB 1.52 3/8 S/A. The car is running well and it sounds great. I have 2 questions. What effect would the changes that were made have on the car for example performance etc.? The other question concerns how the car shifts, noting that it is an automatic. If you take off from a complete stop and drive it like there is a dozen eggs sitting on the dash it is relatively smooth going from 1st to 2nd. However if you put your foot into like you are about to be run over by a dump truck it goes into second hard and will even squeal the tires a little. Is this normal or does it need to be adjusted and how?

This is normal, do not adjust it.

Rockers are 1.5 ratio (stock), 3/8 inch stud (mounting bolt size stock), and self aligning roller tips (good upgrade). Not much in change in performance with these but more efficient over cupped type tips. This will mean less wear especially with more RPMs and spring rate. 1.6 ratio is noticeable difference in lift and gas economy if ever changed again. The ratio magnifies lift and duration of the camshaft to the valves so it can be a quick and easy increase in performance (however minimal).

I do not know how a rocker arm can affect the cam duration. Sure there will be more lift with the 1.6 rockers but the valves still open and close at the same time... yes? no? Someone educate me.

I don't know the specifics of it but it is said to be equivalent of an extra 2 +/- degrees of duration. I guess it can be measured using a degree wheel and a dial indicator.
