Default Valve Train Fatigue

Question --- Would installing high-end Manley valve springs and Jesel rockers in my 383 stroker provide any additional power (improved ETs)? The engine seems to be experiencing some valve float when it hits 6000 rpms, but since it has a forged bottom end and higher compression it should be able to spin higher and have more power. My guess is that the middle-of-the-road valve train components from Trick Flow may be holding it back. What do you guys think?

Thanks ..... WS

I have a Jesel Sportsman in my 94 and have to say I do not experience float going well past 6K. When on a Dyno, car continues to make good power at those RPM's. My setup does use an AFR rev-kit, helper springs for lifters.

If your rockers and springs are the cause of the float eliminating it should add power but stability is just as important.

Jesel rocker arm system provides better high speed operation. Good roller rockers and stud girdle normally will work ok to 7200-7500. Valve weights are a factor in spring rate necessary for high RPM operation. You really don't want to a higher rate than you need. I would contact cam manufacturer and see what they recommend.
