Hello my name is Wes, I have a 94 Vette which a few weeks ago the dana44 locked up and I wrecked it. Destroyed the Dana but already picked another one up. Why I'm explaining this is the frame is straight but the body is toast, I really want to make a Vette kart like they did on roadkill. Now to my question what do you actually need computer and sensor wise to make a lt1 run? I'd like to get rid of every electronics possible without effecting performance?

The computer was cut out of my 84 corvette with the L83 and someone threw a carb on it, absolute pain in the *** but once I figured out all the wiring the previous owner messed up the car ran well and started every time, as far as an LT1 goes I'm guessing it'd be even harder to take that out as it's a much farther, well better made computer system. I'd leave the computer if I were you, those couple pounds won't affect the performance and they'll make your life much easier.

The LT1 has a lot of sensors and most of them need to stay for the engine to run right in stock configuration: TPS, MAF, CTS, O2, etc. I know you aren't talking street legal or emissions compliant but it sounds like you want it to run as designed, not rich or lean or high idle or hard start or anything like that. The hardest part may be making sure you snip the right wires as you remove the unnecessary systems LOL. Also since you're stripping off parts, make sure you seal up all potential vacuum leaks. And without a body (kart style car), you might need to set up some kind of plenum to direct air through the radiator. Just sitting it out in the open might not be enough airflow. Hope this helps you.
