I did the upgrade on mine, but I also did some major adjusting, so I can't really say if it helped or not. The adjustment is rather easy, just remove either the left cowl cover or the little cover on the cowl above the wiper motor and loosen 10mm nuts to adjust. :)
My wipers nipped a little as they passed. I found the previous owner had put 21" wipers on instead of the 20s. The correct wipers work fine now. I do have wear in the motor/actuator assembly and may have to r&r the works at a later date. What's the scoop on using later wiper arms and blades?

I'm the original owner. I replaced the wiper blades several years ago instead of going with the GM refill.
I'm gonna do the later model swap, see what that does for me and then try not to think of all the good money thrown down the drain on impulsive purchases for my Ivory90.
The angle of the blade attachment head is altered on the right side so that when parked, it (top one) will sit parallel to the windshield. This also moves the blade away from the right side frame when the wiper goes up. The springs in both arms are supposedly lighter to eliminate chatter.
Had that problem 2 years ago - I'd adjust the arms and it worked fine -till it would rain - finally found the problem - the nut on the motor would slip just a touch ( it was tight but not tight enough) - haven't had the problem again :D
Yup, fixed it up nicely. The upgrade came out to I THINK $50. Five minute job. Contact Jeff Kopp (18carfan)
BTW: my car is an 87
That's what I did. Why go to a dealer? Its 30 seconds with a flathead screw driver to pry open the clip. That's it. Easier than changing the air filter.
