How whas your old superram setup on the highway? 60-140mph pulls? And when did it stop pulling, at what speed 150/160? I just need som inspiration during my topend rebuild.
80mph to 110mph takes 5 seconds, 70mph to 140mph took 1/2 a mile to complete. I never found where it stopped pulling as I either ran out of room or came up on traffic. 168 was the highest I could get it before having to let off and it was still clicking off MPH.
No, just young and stupid. :) Seriously though the car was still clicking them off at a good pace. It was turning 'em about the same rate that a stock L98 turns them in the 120s. If I had to guess I would say top end would of been around low 180s.
You think a miniram setup would be even faster 80-140 etc. Due to the intake design?
Doubt it. The car is going to pull however it wants to. Power is power, the car will pull the same strength, just at a different RPM if the values are equal. HP is calculated as torque over time. To me that means if a car is making 300hp at 3000RPM, it is a stronger engine than one at 6000 RPM making the same HP. It is taking you twice as many revolutions to make the same power. Maybe I'm completely wrong, I'm sure someone will tell me if I am.
I shift at 6000 to drop me back into the powerband so that I'm never putting less than 300hp to the wheels on a top end run. Shifting there puts me right at peak torque in the next gear also. I rely on the torque to push the car hard and then when the torque starts to fall the HP has come up to peak value to KEEP the car moving hard.
Right, were you getting a funny feeling that the front of the car wasn't firmly attached? I've only been up to 132, and the car felt very strange at that speed.
