The bulb test is a pure resistive load. An ignition system has resistive inductive and frequency so need to do calcs for impedance.

I ran an MSD 8226 coil on my 92 for less than a year before it failed. It had an issue with heat. The coil was a Made in USA unit before they were outsourced in China. The replacement I received under warranty was a Chinese unit. I currently have the factory coil installed and the Chinese unit is a spare in my glove box. The factory coil has 145k miles on it.
I am using the MSD 8.5 spark plug wires.
