Default Tire Recommendations

Hi Folks:

I need to buy tires for my car and am looking at Michelin Pilot Super Sport and Bridgestone Potenza RE. Comments? Recommendations?
Please, input only from owners and not third party info.

Thanks,

Well, the choices are pretty limited if you are still running stock 16" or 17" wheels. That said, I have 17x9 zr-1 replicas on the front of my car and 17x11 on the rear. I just put some Nitto 555G2 275s on the front and 315s on the rear and have been very please with the overall performance wet and dry. The best part is that the tires cost about $800 at Belle Tire.

Might be worth a look. And the Nitto 555G2 are made in the USA.

Michelins SS really are the best, if you want to spend all your money.

Thanks, Vader. Not bad at COSTCO (of all places).

I went with the same size, as I have 17 also. I got a buy on TOYO. The place was closing down because the owner died. So far so good. I was in the rain last summer and the car did not do anything stupid. I have a worked 383 and 6 speed.

Another vote for the Nitto 555. Put about 150 miles on mine so far. Very pleased. Discount Tire did it for about $800.

Default Opted for Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+

Just replaced the original GY's on my recently purchased 2000 C5. The difference is nothing short of amazing. They are super quiet, smooth riding and sticky. Decided on the Pilot Sports over the Super Sports because of tire wear 40k vs. 20k. You will not go wrong with either. Friend just switched from the Bridgestones to the Michelins and is very happy. Hope this helps, good luck.
