Default How to remove Mass Air Flow Sensor 1996

Hi All, 1996 Collectors Edition LT4. Threw a MAF code. Need to clean the MAF sensor, however unable to figure out how to unclip the unit from the airflow intake hoses. Pic attached; clips on left and right side. Is there a special tool needed?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Can't remember but thought it was a screwdriver.

I leave the two hoses attached and spray the MAF using the provided (tube/straw)

Maf and the two hoses are easily removed from the aircleaner and the throttle body...

I took a small screwdriver and put it in the crimped section and turned it to open it up until it would come off the hook. When I put it back together, I used a needle nose pliers to squeeze the crimped section back together.

It's an otiker clamp. I really would either not move it or remove it and use worm clamps. You need the tool and a new clamp to do it right.

What I have done in the past is to remove the 4 screws in the 4 corners. Then it just comes apart.
(No need to mess with the clamps)

Be sure to get it back together as it came apart and be "careful" of the internal wires and resistor.
