Default 1984 fitech FI

I recently purchased an 84 c4 that was carb swapped with a basically thrashed efi harness so I decided to install a basic fitech efi system. you can check out my crappy youtube link here to check it out. I'd be happy to answer any questions and will answer them to the best of my ability.

very cool, thanks for the video. I have been wanting to do this fitech or the Holly sniper for a long time on a C3.

I like the idea of doing it on an 84 as well.

my understanding is they are good up to about 600 hp.

Yes they make several systems . This one is the 400 HP system and so far it works great.

..... There is obviously an abundance of people who find great comfort in a fuel injection system that looks like a carburetor ... especially if it resembles a Holley 4 bbl .....

I see what you're saying, but I think that in this circumstance it's more that the fuel injection system was designed to fit on any vehicle that had a carb.

there are many types of plenums and many types of throttle bodies and many types of intakes.
I think the sniper system is amazingly simple and they designed it so no major shuffling under the hood would have to be done.I do not think they designed it to look like a carburetter on purpose. I think they designed a fuel injection system to go where there was once a carburetor.

probably a little bit of both in regards to design. i like the way it looks because some might not even notice it fuel injection. Whatever the reason it works great and is easily swapped back to a carb if you wanted

interesting, thanks for posting the video...what has been done to the hood to allow that to fit? I subbed to your channel, so I'll see all the good stuff you're doing here...

Does the TV cable get extended fully at wide open throttle with that setup?

I don't have the air cleaner situation worked out yet but yes the TV cable seems to work as it should. I haven't put very many miles on it just yet because of the lack of an air cleaner

I cut the base out of a drop base 14'' round air cleaner . I used that for a little bit before modifying the original air cleaner..
you can find originals on ebay for relatively cheap..good luck
Oh yeah ...nothing like the look on peoples faces when they hear a 515/515 cam and see a sotck looking engine...lol

I'm sure it sounds awesome, that's the next step after I get the interior and some other electrical issues worked out.

Teal, how well did the fi-tech integrate into the main harness? I’m doing a big block swap Into a c4, and I’ve been looking at megasquirt, but the fi-tech has seems to be more user friendly, but I want to keep the functionality of the stock lcd Tokyo by night gauges.

I have the fitech on my 1990 ~ 600 power adder. It works great, and is a stand alone system. The power adder is good because it adds 200 rpm's when the a/c is activated.

Plus with a cam it self programs, so that was the selling point for me. If you need any tips, let me know.

Does anyone know if I can use the stock tpi tv cable to control a 700r4 with the fitech?
