Default Planning new engine, questions?

I am planning on building a new engine for my 86.
I have a super ram, 219 cam, and will use AFR 195 heads.
Should I build a 350, a 383, or a 400?
It is my daily driver and will not be on the track. I just want to be quick.

i almost wish i would have 383'd also, it's really not much more, scat 9000 crank, 6" rods and moderate forged pistons.

Your components are exactly the same as mine for the engine I'm building.

The big difference is that your car is a driver and mine is .........ok, I'll say it, sob..........a garage queen

Seriously, I'm doing a 400 based build because I only drive it weekends or some evenings. If mine were a driver, I'd do a 383 in a heartbeat. There are soooooooo many tried and true combinations out there that'll give you a dependable can of whoopazz, where as a 400 based motor can be fickle at times. Good luck, and I sure like your combo

383

with AFR 195s your intake port would be too big for a 350

Looks like it will be a 383 then. Will keep you posted on progress. I'm not in any hurry, as my current engine is running fine. But it is an iron head and I'm ready for more performance. I will probably have more questions on parts later. I will look over scorps shopping list.

Thanks
