Default 1986 Corvette starting issue

Good morning, I am having an issue with my corvette starting. Cranks, fuel pressure is fine.

There are wires coming off distributor that when I move around, it sometimes starts. Then when I shut it down and try again it does not start. There is one wire coming off distributor to a small cylinder mounted on firewall behind distributor. Wires don't look good. Does anyone know what this is called?

I changed the cap, rotor, ignition module, and some connectors.

Thank you for your help

Do you have the FSM (Factory Service Manual) for your '86?

Explain what connectors you replaced? You cut/spliced or...?

If it's only a white wire to the cylinder mentioned that's the Tach filter and shouldn't effect RUN. Where the harness enters the distributor there's a rectangular grommet that often fails. Is that intact?

After your parts replacements it doesn't RUN at all or the "sometimes" is still?

If maybe the wires you mention going to the firewall aren't to a cylinder but just a "wire bundle" - that passes through to the ECM inside of the car.
