Just got the car a month ago. I was told that the radio worked, it does turn on. The rear speakers work but the door and dash seem to be the problem. The passenger door speaker is on but with a lot of noise while the drivers side is not on. When driving, the speakers do go on and off. When they are on the radio sounds great but it doesn't last long. Anyone know what the problem could be? I would very much like to keep the original radio in the car.

Hi
The speakers have an amplifier board behind each speaker, there may be a bad connection to them or they have failed.
You can find bose amplifiers at wrecking yards, maybe someone who has changed to an after market stereo has them sitting unloved in their garage. I wired straight from the pioneer radio to speakers bypassing the amps.
How can you say no to the option of a new double din stereo with 7 inch screen GPS DVD .....

Word of warning, just changing the Bose amps in the doors is a great pain as you have to pull the door speaker enclosure out.
I did as gerardvg did, I bypassed the amps so I could wire up an aftermarket speaker. Now I have an updated system, JVC with CD/DVD USB Bluetooth.
