Default ZZ-9 VS 219 and superram?

I have a ZZ-9 cam and large tube TPI System. I want to add a Superram intake to may car this winter and I want to know if it is worth my money and time to change the cam from the ZZ-9 to the 219. The car runs 12.60's with the current configuration and I want to run 12.00's. I was hoping the Superram and 3.73 gears would get me to my goal. Do I need to change to the 219 cam to acheive my goal? What kind of power difference will there be between the two cams?

I would want a cam a little bigger on the intake side than the ZZ9, but it will work with the SR with tuning.

You dont need 3.73s with the SR and the 219, and i doubt youll need it with the zz9 cam.

But going from 12.6 to 12 flat, i dont know, not enough people have run the SR with TPiS cams.

Here is a good comparison. A buddy of mine has a very similar modified car.

Me: 219 cam, superam, 1.75" headers.
Him: ZZ9 cam, superram, 1.625" headers.

Me: 322rwhp
Him: 284rwhp

Neither car has been tuned. He had a flatter curve than mine, but mine was still very potent.

Scorp, your buddies car has substantlly less power then yours, are both cars stick shift cars? The 284 RWHP with the SR is less then my long tube intake setup, that bothers me. Is somehing else holding back his combination besides the cam?

its all in the cams, the 219 has 219 on the intake, whereas the zz9 has 212, that makes a difference in power

plus thats without tuning, i bet the zz9 would come closer to his power with the right tuning, remember the 219 is made for use with the SR
