X2. Unless he is datalogging and making changes, what he has is "guess a tune". You tell him what you have and he guesses what you need.

I think it would be fine if you want to change fan temps and such. I would do that.

For performance, it's probably a crapshoot.

Agreed.

As to performance, if I were doing it, NFW would I run you the hottest tune I can do simply because of liability so I would backpedal some. Either that or I will push the limit hoping your knock sensor or other systems will compensate. I like to be there watching the power curve go up and up till it drops down a bit and have you back it off to the last known good. Not to say I don't trust you but well, I don't. I have a couple of mechanics I trust but beyond that, I want to be there watching what is happening.

Find a local tuner to get the car tuned on a dynojet if you want something done right.

There are a few mail-in tuners that you can try, but if they are not making you datalog and redoing the chips afterwards, then you are flushing money.

And do this AFTER you have done all your serious modifications.

My opinion ? A 'one shot' is better than a stock if properly defined & described. So there are many of us (including me) - given enough - can make you a BIN that is most likely much better than stock. That said it is probably most likely that a tune with feedback will be better - how much better - who is to say ???

I'd venture to say look at the "feedback" option - is it available ? A good tuner will offer you this service ??????

Just my humble opinion !!!!!!!! greg

I'm doubting his company. Has to get a cheap website from Facebook. Can't even spring for a decent custom site. Not feeling the confidence

I agree I am doubting the quality. Does anybody here have a company they recommend for this type of service? I am having a hard time finding tuning options and I am in the process of building my motor so will have to re tune soon. I am in Sacramento if anybody knows of a good tuner.

I have been to wongs website before. It does not say anything about tuning or have any prices.

Data log is easy. Just a matter of capturing the data. Knowing what to do with it, that's an educational process

Question. What mods are you planning or trying to achieve? What is your budget? Dyno tuning is about $600 and up

There are a few here and there but they are not all over the place anymore. Obd1 is a dying, if not dead platform
