Default acceleration LT1.automatic or manual

I have ruby convertible LT1 1) does a car have better acceleration by using the automatic transmission, or if i shift manually and accelerate each gear up to 5500 rpm? 2) What is the difference in acceleration if I start with or without a traction control enabled? 3) Is there any kind of the governor that control the maximum rpm? If yes, when is it turned on? 4) What is the acceleration time of the LT1 automatic, up to 1/4 of a mile, or from 0 to 60 rpm? Same question for the manual transmission. Thanks for yours respond!

I think mine shifts much better when I leave it alone. My traction control gets turnned off as soon as I get into the car, so I can't help with question 2. question 3... yes there is a rev limiter... 5800 RPM. question 4... My auto runs 13.3's on motor in the 1/4.

Youll be faster if you let it shift by itself. The car will be faster if the ASR is turned off, launching will be better.

The stock system has rev limiter/fuel shutoff but i cant remember exactly what rpm it was, prolly 5500-6000.

0-60 is about 5.5, for both
1/4mi is mid to low 13s, moreso for the 6speed, but the automatic can get there once you learn how to launch. Until then, expect high 13s.

You can change the rev limiter either programming or with hypertech... Also I sometimes manually shift because mine will not drop into first if I am already moving at more than 10 miles an hour... so if I am already moving and need some low end I have to manually shift.. Maybe something isn't right but it just won't downshift to first without me this is not at breakneck speed of course just between 10 and 25 miles an hour or so.. I also don't know how good this is for your tranny to manually shift. I have heard it isn't the best practice and back in the day I had to replace the tranny on a Firebird at oh around 30,000 miles and I shifted this manually all the time.. Needless to say I very very rarely manually shift my vett. Only if my pride is at stake you follow :D The rev limiter is 5800 also and I raised mine to 6200
