Default Fuel Pump

Looking to replace my fuel pump and not sure which one to choose from. I think I have narrowed it down to these two. Opinions?

I have the bigger one but either or works. Is your car modified or within 100HP of stock.

All stock except the cats are gutted and the diffuser removed. I wasn't sure if I would need an adjustable FPR for the bigger one or not.

I'm not sure I know why the FPR needs to be adjustable regardless of which pump you use. IMO, the FPR is there to regulate the pressure NOT volume. It hits past preset pressure, it dumps it off to the return line, build up pressure, rinse and repeat. Unless you have a reason to increase pressure, I would just replace it with a stock one if you haven't for a long time. The rubber can get old and break or the spring can get weak.

I replaced the FPR earlier this year. I really don't think that is the problem though. The old one didn't leak or anything, I just replaced because it slightly smelled of fuel but I think it was just smell from the intake to be honest. The new one smells the same.

I’d put in a new OE one for $62 from any of the big box stores and call it a day for the next 10-20 years.

There is always going to be fuel around that area but if there is any indication of a leak, it has to go. Since it is new, unless you FUBARed something going in, I have doubts it is bad.

You said you changed the pump, did you reuse the pulsator?

I replaced the pulsator when I replaced the pump.

I replaced with a pulsator. Should I replace with a rubber hose like many have done? I don't remember where for sure but probably Rockauto or a local parts store.

It has started to make a weird noise. like its struggling. I think I will order the stock upgrade one, the engine is stock and I have heard Walbro are good pumps. Then I just need to move onto the other issues. Thanks everyone.

What is the pulsator made of? Rubber or something that you slip over the ends. If it gets loose from age, where does the fuel from the pump go? Back to the tank so you won't notice anything BUT you lose fuel pressure. If you use some sort of fuel hose, it might not work since it may not be designed to be submerged. So it holds fuel inside the hose but outside can attack the rubber.

The Racetronix kit has all the stuff you will need. Best of all, you won't have to run to the parts store for this, that or the other, usually when it is closed or they are out of that part.

It was metal like the original. It did seem kinda loose though now that I think of it. I'm gonna order the Racetronix stock upgrade with the Walbro pump, looks to have everything I need but I think I may order this also from corvettemods.

My sending unit didn't look bad from what I remember but I just reading another post and sounds like they can get a ground problem. im not really a parts swapper but with it being a 92 I want it to be dependable and don't mind buying an extra part here and there to ensure me from being stranded somewhere. I do wonder if I could get by with just buying the bulkhead wiring assembly though, much cheaper.

It would look like the what was in the picture below. It goes between the pipe on the pump assembly and the pump outlet.

I don't know about you but I don't run that wiring assembly. Looking at the voltage on the scanners mine seems pretty consistent.

Yep, that's a pulsator, exactly what I replaced. You think replacing it with a section of submersible hose would be better? Many seem to do it.

I just figured fresh wiring or even a new sending unit would add to reliability.
