Walbro 255 pump
So my procharged 96 has low fuel pressure and I'm contemplating switching out to a walbro 255 while I'm changing my filter and FPR to make sure I'm not starving the car for fuel, would the 255 be a good pump to pickup or should I look at something possibly bigger? Looking at this:

Does that look like a good price? do the walbros just bolt right in, and done?
Thanks!
Charles

The price is good. The pump uses the fuel tank sender to mount to.Before doing this get the gaskit for the tank sender. If you have to remove the rear bumper cover for access to the tank use some PB blaster on the studs/10 mm nuts on the bumper cover. They tend to break off.If you can drive the car in reverse on to some ramps that helps.

For $79, that is NOT a genuine Walbro. It is a made in China counterfeit. The Walbro has been counterfeited by the Chinese for at least 10 years now right down to the "Made in U.S.A." inscription. Do your Google research. This was a huge problem a few years back, looks like it still is.
A genuine Walbro 255 should cost about $130-$150. I have recently seen, but have not confirmed that the GS380 (the 255 for GM applications like Corvette, Camaro, Syclone/Typhoon) has been discontinued. There's probably a current reploacement model number, but I don't know what it is.

Well Walbro - TI or Racetronix - it's very difficult to sort what you're actually buying. I imagine quite likely all are done by TI but who knows to what spec - I believe if you're buying Walbro through a TI distributor you're buying USA branded product if it's so marked. Walbro is actually just a "sales/marketing/branding" thing used by TI.
Counterfeits are certainly out there

Put a 255gph Walbro in my 89 a few years ago , plenty of fuel for my 383 and it only took about an hour to complete... If you still have the pulsator valve on the pump , throw it away and use the piece of rubber fuel line that comes in the kit...WW

Alright thanks everyone for the info! I will look into more info making sure it is deff genuine.. haha! WW7 I've never been in for tank so I would guess that the pulsator valve is still present! What exactly does it do?

what is your current fuel "system" consist of? How much boost are you running? the 255 should be a perfect fit unless you're running quite a bit of boost.
I typically get my stuff from racetronix as greg mentioned. You may want to pickup their hotwire kit and possibly some of their offerings to "freshen" up the connectors on the sending unit while you're at it.

From what I know as I didn't build the car.. stock pump, external boost a pump (that I dont even know if its working, and if I can just remove it?) lines to the FMU for the procharger, then into something like 30lb injectors if I had to guess. Car is making around 11pounds, So maybe run the 255 alone, or with the external, or if its honestly just a waste of time doing a bigger pump and let the boost a pump do the work assuming it is working... What does the hotwire kit do exactly?

The cars never really been on the road, Not licenced sense I bought it so maybe that has saved it :P What does the hardwire kit do exactly, and what fittings would see the most wear and need replacing if that really makes any sense haha

You're going to want to spend some time on the forums. There's tons of great info. I started out pretty much like you, so if you check my posts over the years, you'll be much more informed. I've been on here since about 2005 and started with 4lbs of boost and maybe 300 rwhp on a car that should have had 500.
Beyond that, check out blower works "white pages". Very valuable.
