Thanks I found all those. Aside from the Sumitomo and F1s (which I think are kinda ugly even if they are awesome tires) The rest of those are drag radials. I suppose OK to drive on in dry weather, but what if it rains??
It seems to me these are another of the sizes generally abandoned for 20+s
Greg
Nitto has a 555 and a 555G2 that are not drag radials. They are just high-performance street tires. Same goes for the Mickey Thompson Street Comps. These are all intended to be street tires that will work in dry and rain, although not snow/ice.
The manufacturers (of cars) are definitely not favoring 17s anymore. The basic reason is that cars have gotten so much bigger that 17s look tiny on them. A C4 is a much smaller car than later generations. IMO it looks goofy with 19s or 20s. 18s are the biggest one can go and not look out of proportion, IMO.
First, I will admit to not knowing exactly what is on my car, which I just inherited from my dad who only owned it a few months. It is a Collector Edition and it has some aftermarket wheels on it I have been trying to identify. I believe they are ZR1 sizes (the car has 315 tires on the rear and 275s in front) and I am fairly sure they came from OE Wheels. I don't know anything about the offsets, but OE Wheels sells wheel sets intended for the application, and they have a bunch of styles, so they should be able to fix you up. Good luck.
