A MAF fuel system uses MAF sensor to measure the air entering engine and the primary in fuel delivery and the MAP tweaks. 92-93 with speed density fuel system the air entering engine is calculated using TPS and MAP readings. The lower vacuum is interpreted as increased load; resulting in ecm adding fuel. The "speed density" fuel management will require tuning where a MAF system maybe able to compensate.
That's what I figured. So I bet that you actually have less total overlap than I do, and yet I have stock drivability with my 396. So I think we're all on the same page with the need for better tuning.
I would check the Holley forums for tuner recommendations. There was also a LT1 conversion thread from 2016 that covered some issues although I think it was hardware-related.
Hang in there man you'll get it sorted and this car will rip

Turns out it was all cya, the car does rip. It's an animal. There is so much front end grip it feels like it's gonna swap ends. I've been daily driving an AWD Audi S4, so I'm not really used to that much responsiveness from the front end. Will have to go slowly getting used to this thing.
Awesome Build thread, I just saw it now, thanks for sharing!
I did a very similar suspension and wheel/tire setup on my car years ago and it handles and drives just wonderfully, you must be very happy with it. I only did a built SR 355ci on mine so i'm sure your car has a ton of power with the built 383.
Hey Jaye, do your rear 315s sit close to the sway bar?
I don't really know. I only ran the 315's for about a week before I put on some 285/35/18's on new C6Z repro wheels. I do not recall any rubbing during that week nor were the tires marked so I assume there was adequate clearance...just how much I have to say I don't really know.
A seasonal switch. I live in north AL so I don't put the car up for the winter. I put my tires up for the winter. The 315's are mounted on the wall waiting for late April when I'll switch them back on the car.

Makes perfect sense.
Also your car looks awesome, you did a great job with it!
Had a little work done to my 93. TWO Holley fuel pressure regulators failed each within about a month of installing them. We think the parts were just bad. Installed a new Aeromotive regulator, then took it to the same folks that dynoed it late last summer. Runs a lot better...

It seems pretty clear in the old dyno graph that it was running out of fuel. The new one looks really good. With torque at 365 lb/ft or more for the entire RPM range of the test, there is no speed at which this engine won't pull hard.
