It can be your idiot light I just need to know if the solenoid on the starter is getting a signal to crank. It seems like you've got 2 issues.
If you get a start signal then I'd pull the starter and check out the solenoid at a rebuild shop.
While you are waiting you can check why you are not getting pressure at all rail

no point in trying to start it without fuel pressure....the line from the pump to the pulsator may have blown out and you are pumping into the tank....pull it , bench test the pump, check the lines...doesn't take that long and not a hard job.....

Assuming it works the question is whether or not it is getting a start signal If it is, bypass the positive with a good Jumper cable and try cranking If it does work you may have a bad positive cable I would disconnect the positive from the starter and use Jumper cables and if it works that way, I'd suspect the positive cable.

Do that. If you are not getting power to the starter AND a signal, nothing happens. We need to see if you are getting a signal and if so, will the starter go. Battery needs to be charged or we are screwing up the test. So if we can get the starter to go with the key in run mode, we can start looking for the signal to the starter. If there is signal to the starter solenoid BUT not enough power, either battery, bad ground or your cable.
Just because your cable has 0 ohms doesn't mean squat. This means that somehow there is voltage from the battery to starter. It doesn't say there is enough juice getting to the starter. Either not enough battery power or no start signal to the solenoid can cause your problem.
