Default Air conditioning

I am new to the C4. I have a 92 that the a/c on automatic blows cold then will blow hot air. Then when it is super hot out side blows cold all the time. Is this the way all C4 on auto temp work? Is the auto temp going haywire?

Pull the courtesy fuse and radio fuses, then replace. It resets the AC system and has worked for me. From owners manual in AC section.

The temperature control of the C68 auto unit is definitely not a well fine tuned machine. If you are actually are getting hot air out of the vents that would mean the blend door has gone full hot and there could be a number of causes that would cause an oscillation of the door. The "auto" function controls the blend door and the blower speed. For me, it's a useless function that I don’t use as I would rather set the temperature and the blower speed as to my personal likening.

I mostly use the recycle and outside air functions. In trying to set the temperature for a desired set point is like trying to be right on top of a fence where one move either way it's too hot or too cold. The temperature control does work and this is what you should be concerned with in the two modes I mentioned. If you can get a stable temperature in the recycle mode, and it does not go crazy and go hot, I would then be a happy camper. If you can't keep it steady as I described, then you may need to chase this problem.

I know this does not directly address a direct fix for the exact result you are looking for, but take a step back and see if it will work satisfactory in the other modes. If this works for you it might be good enough. If you need to go forward with the repair, I can give you all the tech that you would need.
