base timming
Can the base timing be set on an 86 vette. If so i understand it is in the throttle body drivers side. If the plug has never been removed can i asume the bas idle is ok.

Re: base timming (jtfrog)
base timing is set by unplugging your spark advance, it's by the ecu under the hood on late C4's i have no idea where it is on early but i'm sure someone does. you then twist the distributor till the timing light flashes 6deg BTDC. timing is now set.

Re: base timming (gtsyellow)
Brown/tan wire coming out of the fire wall on the drivers side. Take care when unplugging it, as the connector does get brittle from under hood temps. 84 CF 91 ZR-1

Base idle is set with the screw on the left side of the TB; base ignition timing is set by openinng the EST connector in the blk/tan wire and adjusting the dist position.
