Good morning, so last night I decided to start the 92 after its been sitting for a couple of weeks, and it ran horrible, then fine, then horrible etc. this morning I opened the hood making simple checks of connections etc, started it and it ran like a top, until I closed the hood it almost died.... opened the hood again and discovered when I tapped on the ecu it greatly affected the way the car ran, long story short, my ecu needs replacing or refurbished.. does anyone recommend a place to refurbish the ecu? thanks in advance,
Dana

It just might be a connector, carefully wiggle them one by one and see what happens.
I got a 92' as well, have not looked for an ECU rebuilder, will see what the rest say here.
Good luck with it.
I had to get the ECM in my previous '92 rebuilt. I used SIA Electronics. Cost about $200 total, turn around took about 5 days. Never had a issue with that ECM again. http://siaelec.com/product/16159278-...repair-return/

You have corrision on your terminals Open it up throw a hair dryer on it, with battery disconnected. Wear anti static wrist band ( Staples can help you) when handling it it Hook battery back up after looking for visual corrosion and clean with electronic contact cleaner . Some times a soft tooth brush can remove un wanted ferrous metals.Last resort SIA electronics stay away from the parts stores on this sensitive item.
