I have a 93 350 that came out of a k1500. I was hoping that you guys could give me suggestions on how to rebuild the engine into a supercharger build that I could put in my 84 at some point. Thanks in advance.
It depends on a number of factors, what are you going to use the car for? something for the strip, is different from a car for the road course, or autocross, is different from a daily driver. What is your intent, what performance levels do you want to see? Is your car an automatic, or manual? but an engine is an engine, use some decent heads that breathe well, a mid duration cam with moderate lift, and something around 8.5 to 9.0 to 1 compression ratio, it will give modest performance before the supercharger comes into boost. What type of supercharger are you planning? If It were me, I'd read, read, read, and read some more. Nail down exactly what I intend to use, and answer a few questions. Will I have to change the engine management? What size injectors?
there are just so many variables with the question that you asked, it just raises others.
I guess the first place I would like to start is with the internals. I'm not quite sure what would be suitable to handle the HP. I want to build this for driving around and some fun on an empty road once in a while. I plan on having an automatic transmission, but if it possible to convert, I am up for that too. Bit for now, any advice on a rotating kit and rebuild kit would be appreciated along with any mods to the block if suggested. Thanks
….. If it's a 4 bolt main block , use it but throw everything else away … There's a post in the parts for sale section for a forged stroker crank , forged rods , and deep dished pistons for an awesome price …..
