Do you have to shift manually with the 4L60 to enjoy that extra 750 RPM from stock? You have to dig into a 700R4/4L60 (non-E) to change the shift points with different springs/weights I thought.

Also, while you were in there did you do a water pump and opti? I’m for sure doing a new pump but am inclined to leave a functioning low mileage factory opti alone.
sorry for delay on reply. I don't always get notifications on post updates.
I did do new WP at time of cam swap, kept original opti but installed new cap and rotor. (70K mi.)
I also changed oil pan gasket.
as far as shifting I really only got one day at track since cam and tune and had issue which I hope and pretty sure it was a fuel slosh issue. need to retry with full tank. went 12.8@108 as far as shifting I currently have a stretched shift cable so I let it auto shift on the 1-2 shift at the 5600 and manual on 2-3, @ 6100ish. so I am sure I left time on the table. I have to cable just need to swap. I will be doing governor calibration with weights and springs but I have a new Borla exhaust system and waiting to do that at same time as you really can't get to Governor cover with exhaust on the car.(at least not too easily) when I do exhaust I am also replacing cats with pipe.I highly recommend a stall converter if yo upgrade to any decent size cam.
the dampener pulley and hub are tricky. if it is something you haven't done I have learned a few tricks I can share.

Yes I agree on the long tubes. just an expensive nugget. I am always looking for a deal and if one comes along at the right time I will swap. for now I am planning on swapping cats with pipes.

I really just used them to replace manifolds cause all the studs broke when I needed to pull apart for converter install
