I'm pretty sure the OBD2 version of LT1-edit is the only one available right now ( http://www.carputing.com ). I use it -- a very useful system.
You'll also need an OBD2 scan tool like Autotap (there are several others out there).
LT1 Edit for OBD II by carputing (www.carputing.com) is it. Pricey at $550, but when you consider it costs $350 to have a tuner make changes, the software "pays for itself" after a couple mods.
In addition to LT1 Edit, you'll need a cheap laptop (I have an old Dell P233 with Win '95) and scanning software (I use OBD-2 (www.obd-2.com)).
If the car is stock, you won't get much out of it (the factory LT4 programming is pretty darn good) other than being able to change fan temps, fuel cutoff, !CAGS, etc.
I swear by it ..( dun tell my mom) LT1 edit has saved me TONS of money.. I agree if you are running astock engine it may be a bit pricey but at least you can tune it closer than a Hypertech one program fits all...
I've gone through over 75 iterations getting the car dialed in multiply that times $200 a pop.. well worth the money, I log with autotap...
Can you email me a copy of the readout? Is it in plain english, or do I have to have a computer degree and read hex to decipher it?
If you want to see what LT1 Edit looks like, go to http://www.carputing.com They have the manual on-line. FWIW, it's not just a "readout", there are multiple screens and tables. They're logically organized (i.e. "Fuel", "Ignition", etc) so navigating around the software is pretty straightforward.
