Does anyone know if they make steel(not stainless) long tube headers for an LT1 C4 I really want to replace my shorty's with LT but really hate to spend $700+ for them. the car spends most it's time in the garage and usually only comes out for short runs or trips to the track. regular painted would be just fine. thanks. I have a complete Borla exhaust system to go on and would like to do all at same time.
To me the sitting is the issue. Especially if you go for a short run and have condensate sit without the heat to evaporate it. If it isn't worth $700 to you, might as well leave it with shorty that you already bought. I have TPIS coated and they are good other than having some road rash here and there. I see paying more for a better product as buying more useful time and less "screwing with it AGAIN time".
Headman 68440 are about the cheapest... $176.00 at Scumitt.
But they are very basic and you will need to weld O2 bungs in the collector and fabricate new head piping off the collector to the rest of the exhaust.
