When purchased, my 94 6 speed had magna flow mufflers on stock exhaust. Drone was horrible. I found a low mileage factory exhaust, complete, and drive 250 miles to bring it home. Including installation it was way less expensive than experimenting with dollars.
I am am a happy fellow and can talk to my passenger.
I learned a a while back that noise does not improve performance. Just noise, if I hear a cam there is a little appreciation. Otherwise just noise, like the bone stock pickup with a loud muffler. Back in the day I had a 67 Chevelle with “cherry bomb” mufflers, corvette 30-30 cam, little head work and such. I loved that car and still miss it, was hit and totaled. My dad hated that car
All said and done, it is your car. Exhaust note is like home audio we don’t all hear the same thing. I can get a new amp and love it but my wife has better hearing and may not like it at all and still listens with me.
To to be clear I am fascinated with performance improvements folks do to their cars

I am convinced that back in the day, you had no real choice. You want power, it will be louder. After a while, people associate the two items. So if it is loud, they imagine it has power. Today that equation is not so true anymore. To make 400 HP, it does not have to be a noisy brute with a lopey idle. However, people still think that and want to give other people that impression. Kinda like a mouse with the roar of a lion.
