Default Lowering Kit

anyone have any experience in installing a lowering kit? I realize the rear is a simple longer spring bolt. it's what happens in the front I am not too clear on. also I was considering 2" drop in rear maybe 1.5 front and they all say 1" drop. not sure why my car looks so high. i have to close the wheel gaps but still want to get a good alignment. I just got new wheels but just added an inch in width in both front and rear. still gonna sit too high. thanks for input. car is only a sunny day cruiser for cruise ins and such.

I dropped the rear of my '88 ~1 1/2" and it also closed up the front gap as well. Actually the stance was a little off so one side was dropped only ~1". Didn't do anything additional to lower the front though I had the lowering "kit".

Be prepared to pull the front mono leaf spring out side to side and drop front lower a-arms. Threads here on forum are good but big job without shop equipment

The taller 275/40R18s should close the gaps considerably compared to typical 275/40R17s. Let's see what it looks like with the new rubber, a full tank of gas and the suspension settled-in.

I did my 95 vert in my driveway. Took me a complete day. Longest single part was waiting for the epoxy to dry on the new shims for the front spring. You will need to make sure the front is up in the air a good bit, when that spring slides out, it's got a heckuva curve to it!! Just plan on a few days and take your time.
I used gorilla glue two part epoxy to hold the new shims, that stuff is awesome.
Good luck

We took everything off we could before we put on the new wedges so went as low as I could. I want to order 2010 black grandsport wheels but trying to figure out what size tires I can run any thoughts

My car is pretty low, about 3" shorter then a Ferrari 458 I found out. these are 315/35R17s, with VBP sport springs (and longer bolts). Im actually planning to raise the car up about 1" as navigating every speed bump/driveway is a PITA.

That's the way our Vettes should have looked from factory, IMO.
