The previous owner also managed to partially strip the drivers side Torx bolt that attaches to the top. I can get the top off, but it is hard to get enough on it to keep it securely tightened. Is there a preferred supplier for a replacement bolt and/or what is the procedure for replacing it?
That torx screw is a captive screw in the mounting block. I would think youll have to replace the whole mounting bracet. Try a used part place like Contemporary corvette. Its not hard to do.
Ya their really easy to replace, they are held up there my a palstic case. Its super tight to get it off, but it does come off. I've had mine apart a few times
I purchased 4 bolts via my dealership after I determined that the drivers side bolt was stripped. I have 3 on stand-by in the car, because know won had them in stock when I needed them. With that bolt missing, it was a very unpleasant sounding ride :smash:
