Default C4 Need Help !! HID Conversion Headlight Kit

Hello, I need help with a HID conversion Kit that I bought from Corvettemods. I have no idea how to wire it to my 1988 C4.

Is there somebody that can help me please?! Any help is appreciated.

It is this Kit as described here: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...light-kit.html

Thank you so much!

Cheers

i had the same kit, i had to call there tech support to get help and they sent me wiring instructions but once installed still unhappy, due a search on this topic, i finally pulled it apart and went with new lenses and bulbs with led s, much easier and great light..you will need further work to get lower lights to work but very doable

Hello, thanks for your reply. Do you have some wiring instructions left over? It absolutely makes no sense to me. And there is not even one of the cables and connectors that has some mark on it what cable it needs to be connected to.

Well, now I have cut open the controller box and some cable isolation to make me some sense out of it. I will do some trial&error with a separate battery tomorrow. I will tell then if there will be light, if it exploded or whatever

... and there was light

It worked the way I figured it out, and looks not too bad.

In case one day somebody else wants to know how to connect this kit I will describe it here:

- there is one Red cable (with extra fuse) comming out of the controller box -> battery +

- there are two black cables comming out of the two HID ballast boxes -> ground

- and one three-wire connector with a brown / white / blue cable:

brown = ground
white = Low beam
blue = high beam

The three-wire connector is for the connectors on the headlights. Although it does not fit to my '88 C4, as she has connectors with round endings and the connector from the kit has flat endings. So I need to cut this off.

Another thing is that the car has one connector for each headlight. The Kit only has one connector for both headlights.

So I need to do one out of two or two out of one. That's a bit strange I think.

Now I just need to install the whole Kit to the car.

I purchased their lights and I did not have great luck with them, as one of the lights quit on the first day. Given my personal experience with their customer support folks, I opted to purchase a replacement set of lights elsewhere.

Yes you're right, I probably won't buy again from Corvettemods, as customer service is not available, no response to questions. But I hope my lights will live longer, as I'm going to install them, now that I once bought them..

The install isn’t to bad, but I would have an extra set of hands to help out. Hopefully your lights will work better than mine did. Good luck!
