Hello, i noticed this rub mark a while back and it looks like its getting worse. I'm thinking the shocks are toast, i haven't driven over any hard dips or bumbs. They are 25 years old but only have18k miles on them. Any thoughts?
Thats a normal mark from the outer sleeve of the shock rubbing the lower part of the shock. Shock travels... The 18 years is worth giving thought to.... but the low mileage says youre probably fine. Was it garaged? it looks like thats the case... I see no trace of leaking... If youre unsettled about it, pull a front and a rear and check the resistance of the shock. If its hard to collapse, and rebounds properly, then youre probably just fine..
