Don't know about "best" but I've run GY Eagle All-weathers on both of 35th Annis and now on my "new" '89 MN6 rag-top.

I've found that at 30psi they provide excellent grip at the starting line and at 35psi they provide great traction for running the twisties.
I drive my Vettes year around so also need the wet/snow traction provided.

I suggest you call the Tire Rack and speak to one of their staff. My last set of tires came from them and I saved a bunch of money. I have Pirelli tires on my C4 and they are just now starting to weather crack. Tire rack will even send them to your shop where you will have them installed which can be nice. The best part is they give you six months to pay for the four expensive tires they sent you. I like this place, no I don't work for them. Just a satisfied customer many times over and over.

The chance to read others reviews on how these tires work before buying has helped a lot.

Best Regards,
Chris

My wife recently damaged a tire while driving and the dealer wanted over $200 just for the tire before installing. I called Tire Rack and had a new exact identical tire for $112 shipped and I got it in two days. Paid $20 to have it mounted balanced (My mechanic) and re-installed on her car for her.
I am STILL Impressed with the Tire Rack!!

Bought 4 tires from them in February (not my first purchase). Delivered to a Firestone I go to a lot for mount/balance/front end alignment. Last week took it back for another balance and they found a nail in one tire too close to the sidewall to repair. Tire Rack has a free two-year road hazard warranty. It actually works! Called and opened a claim. Ordered another tire and they are reimbursing me for that new one. It was painless.

I got nothing but good things to say about them.

I've got Nitto NT555s on my 35th. I live in the south so no issues with snow. Ride and handle pretty good to me. Getting ready to buy another set from NTB as the ones I have on it now are over 6 years old. A lot of tread but don't like the age.

Not a surprise. This is no different from you going to Autozone and asking why the price of oil is so much more than Amazon. The dealership probably doesn't sell as many tires as TR and can't make it as cheap. I have asked the parts manager (friend I did favors for) why I would pay more than $50 for the CPS on my Powerstroke when I can get it so cheap ($150 IIRC). He told me flat out that he can't even "buy" it for that price from Ford who bought it from International and trickled it down to the dealership

I was. As in "past tense". I used them to beat up the tire shops. Not anymore. I think TR does NOT have it's install shops so the install price is up to the installer. I go to discountiredirect.com, have Discount Tire (the shop) match it and install it. I have DT match Costco's penny install when they are running it.

Honestly, the best tire for your car is the one you can afford and fits for the use of the car. You're buying new tires and that keeps you and others on the road with you safe.

Best tire... it would be helpful to know what kind of budget you are working with.

I think, more important is what the tires are going to be used for.

In my opinion the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 are really hard to beat for the money.

Default Tires

I agree on the Indy 500’s price and performance reviews drove my decision. Was scheduled to have them put on today at my local shop but yup....it rained.
I will have to wait 3 more days to test those new shoes out!! Can’t wait ....
