The car originally came with cassette only. In 1998 I purchased a CD/Cassette combo leftover stock from Corvette Parts in Florida.
The unit has been fine until now. The car has been parked for 6 weeks. For the last 3 days, the CD will insert, but the "1" never appears and you can hear subtle electronic noises. You have to hold the eject button in to eject the cd. After about 10 minutes, the cd will act normal. I've tried it with several nearly new cd's. Is my unit about to die?
:yesnod: Sounds like the belts are slipping not allowing the CD to spin up to the correct RPM (which is the fastest when it is reading the inside of the CD TOC). Your choice as to have it repaired by Dr. Don (I think) or find another used one.
