Sorry James for the late reply, but I've been "busier than a one legged man in an a** kickin' contest" lately and getting a bit tired. I just got off the phone with the VP's secretary and the man I need to talk to is not in today and won't be back until next week since he is traveling on Edelbrock business. Funny, it would be nice if I was a stop on his travels, jus sayin'. Anyway, I'm hoping that she will contact him and he will get the fire going under the foundry for me, but we shall see.

Just in case you're keeping track, or if other readers are curious, I am a definite buyer of a new original/improved quality (by that I mean before EMS F...ed the manifolds and all the customers) Renegade should you put it back in production. Even at the cost of $900, as previously mentioned in this string. Granted there are folks who are dipping their toe into the hobby by owning these relatively inexpensive sports cars, and may not be interested, but for car guys looking to make power, interested in crossfire injection, and attached to 82/84 cars, that price is very reasonable for a quality product, not to mention your personal commitment to that product, which I have benefitted from over the past couple years.
I own and drive a EMS version Renegade, and have had to deal with all the same issues discussed in this forum. While there's no excuse for EMS's execution, the performance increases of the manifold itself are very impressive. I would replace mine in a minute if the opportunity existed. Thanks for keeping us all up to date on your progress. Wish you the best.

Thank you Gary for the comment. The Renegade IS a good performance product for any CFI motor, just the people machining it failed miserably. Ugh! So far, the only foundry that even came close to my margin is now closing his business for good after 80+ years and the virus thing sealed the deal. I'm still holding out for a west coast foundry to come through on this project. If not, the tooling is going into storage forever.
Hey @Buccaneer
I was talking to a guy on Facebook, in the group "Crossfire Fuel Injection (CFI) 82-84 Corvette-Z28-Trans Am"
Told him you were looking for a Foundry and he said he is in that business. He wanted me to tell you to contact him. His name is John Martin.
I will pm you a link to his facebook page.
Its worth 900 all day....nobody has an issue paying well over a grand for a glorified LT1 type piece, an LSx intake is up there...lucky anyone is trying to support the Xfire period.
Pay to play!

Yes, I know Tom who runs that facebook forum and have talked with him several times. Thank you Kane and John has already reached out to me and I have replied to his email. I may be going out of town today, but I will still be reachable if he wants to call me and maybe talk about the fine points of the project. I can tell you that I'm getting close to throwing in the towel since all the foundry's I've contacted either can't be bothered or the price is sky high, neither response impressed me. If John can't help, I think this may be the end for the manifold and it will go into storage. Thank you again for your interest and help and I replied to your PM.

Update: I was out of town today, but still had time to talk with John about the tooling and manifold production. I am somewhat hopeful that he can come through with a home-run on this project, but we shall see. At least he seems to fully understand where I'm coming from as far as quality and cost. More as things evolve...

UPDATE:
Today, I talked with another foundry and will be forwarding them all the info they should need to give me an idea on whether or not they can do the pours and hopefully give me a quote. The Saga continues...

I appreciate the offer sir. I have given up on Edelbrock since they didn't return any of my calls/VM after I talked with them and info from me sent. I even called the VP of sales secretary and she said she would contact him about the manifold since he was who I was dealing with...No reply from anyone. So, unless you know a great contact that will call me from either sales or engineering, they are out of the picture, I must move on. PM me if you have the info I mentioned.

I hope he does, cant imagine the personal/financial investment he has in this just to give the Xfire owners a super cool piece. Id be inclined to get a late C3...maybe an 84 just cause the crossram type concept is to cool.
When you look at most aftermarket performance EFI intakes they are almost all over a grand...plus all the little extras you have to buy to make it work. For what his intake does its priced pretty fairly Id say
Once its out, and results spread among the vette and F body forums I bet those cars become real popular!
