Question for the experts

Hello, I have a question for the experts here and hope I can get some advice. Can 1992 C4 shocks be used on a 1987 C4? I have a line on a set of coil overs that were on a 1992 C4 and need to know if they will bolt right up or if I can adapt them. Any help givin will be appreciated. Thanks, gary

It would be best to get a correct shock rather than trying to modify a set to fit. Too many variable and shock are critical to your handling and safety.

The top of the 84-87 is an eyelet mount compared to a plate with a typical top shock mount. You could probably adapt, but unless you are getting the set for a steal, it probably wouldn’t price out better.
