LS swap A/C options
Agree, the return fuel line to the fuel tank or cell is my preference. I have dual lines on my C5 and the LS1 in my '56 Chevy Coupe. The fuel cell maker states that this keeps the fuel pump (in the tank) cooler and it lives longer.
Michael..
No lower passenger side.
I took a quick look yesterday and there's just to many components in the way to see if the DD low mount kit would work on a C4. But the oil cooler lines look to be in the way for a passenger side low mount. It will be a month or so before I can get to removing the oem alt, AIR, and P steering to find out if there's room for a low ac comp mount.
Or depending on your amperage needs, perhaps a smaller alternator. I've installed one of these on a Friends car.

There's a post that asks which CAD CTSV AC pump fits. I think that was a 2006 year model.
And there's this post, But this bracket looks to be very close to the 2000 Firebird bracket that I have on the shelf.

I'll look for that FirerBird ac mount today.
Michael..
You could always build your own turbo piping as there is room with out the AC unit up top position. You could easily put in a S400 T-6 sized turbo in between the engine and raditor.
I was just goofing around last winter, but it fits in there decently Thats a BIG BOY S480/96 T-6/1.32 96mm turbine, probably around 1000HP turbo

Your correct on fitment, very snug the C5 accessory brackets. I've got a C5 Convert and my Son has a C5 ZO6 FRC, the engine bays are a nightmare !! I'll be happy with AIT gone and all the related out of my old C4 Convert !! Prob the useless EGR too.
I put a LS1 and T-56 in my '56 Chevy 210 in 2007. The accessory bracket is from a 2000 FireBird WS3. The Alt is a low mount on the drivers side, I'm positive after looking at my C4 again that will not work of a C4 This mounting only works on my '56 because its a Rear Steer Rack. The AC comp is a low mount on the passenger side, and that compressor is very large compared to the new modern units. I dimpled the cross member for it, but,,, never got around to installing AC.
I often wonder why I just don't hack out the AC in the C4. I'm SE +30 from Oregon City. We only have a few weeks of 90's days. That's Why I don't have AC in my '56 210.. Not worth the effort. I'm putting AC in the '37 because it has lousy ventilation and not a Convert.
The Turbos on the LS3 in my '37 Chevy - they will be just above the valve coves. Think of Headers, sort of like upside down Shorties. The mirror image sure does make the pluming nice. No issues with P steer, Alt or AC compressor. The water cooler inter-coolers, another matter.
I just got an image of Dual Turbos on a C4 Convert atop of the valve covers. Would take two good sized Hood Bubbles.... Callaway would be Jealous.
Steering shaft, oh yes. Mine just fits under the power steering pump and over the alternator on that LS3,,, very snug fit. Same Suspension, late C4 with Don McNeil's custom cross member. But what give me enough steering shaft clearance is that the LS3 is back over eight inches from the center line of the spindles. I'll bet We moved the engine back and forth two dozen times to get everything to clear.
Turbo in your C4, Woof Fun fun fun..
Were of subject now,, but let me know what you decide and photos of course.
Michael..
